Guess what???

Another post already!!! Can you believe it? I'm on a ROLL! This card is for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 82 from Techno Stamper's blog. Mary Jo is puts a lot of challenges out there, so if you're looking for inspiration check her out!

This was a lovely sketch even if I did have a little bit of a challenge getting my rectangles all even and lined up! I had such fun colors to work with, I didn't mind playing with them a bit longer :)

Yep, this cheerful little card will be added to the stack I'm building to send off to Cards for Heroes. It may not be perfect, but it's happy :)

Ok, your turn! Go get your fingers inky and make somethin' purty!!! Cuz I dunno about you, but I'd Sooner be Stampin'!

Cards for Heroes - Unscripted Sketches 18

I finally figured it out! I've been wanting to enter cards in some of the sketch challenges out there (and there are LOTS! and they are FUN!), but it seemed wasteful to make a card just for the sake of making a card. Then I thought, why not make the cards and then send them off to Cards for Heroes? Now I am on a mission and it feels so good!!! Isn't it funny how being on a mission gives you theme music? LOL (insert Mission Impossible music here)

This card is for Challenge 18 on Unscripted Sketches. There are some really neat examples and entries out there... you should check them out!

This was a nice, simple sketch and it looked just perfect for a little embossing (my latest favorite toy). I dug out my Stampin' Up! designer series paper, added some Night of Navy and a little Rubbahdultry to quote Jan, one of the bloggers I follow. In case that sounds too naughty, let me explain... rubbahdultry is a non-SU stamp :) I embossed the present and popped it up with dimensionals.

Whatcha think? Is some soldier overseas gonna be happy to have this card to mail to a loved one? I sure do hope so!!!

Come play along with the sketches! You'll enjoy it! How did that old commercial go? Try it, you'll like it!

Until next time!

Saturday Sketch Challenge ~ 111

It's a day of firsts! Well, maybe only a couple of firsts but they sure seem big to me. I am entering my very first sketch challenge AND I've embossed a card for the first time! Woohoo!!! I've been lurking in the background and enjoying what other stampers have entered for a while. Today I'm steppin' out of the shadows! Aren't you proud of me?

The Saturday Sketch Challenge over at the Stamping 411 blog looked like so much fun that I just *had* to step up and take part.

I just got a heat embossing tool and I was DYING to try it out. Therefore, a darker paper seemed like a good idea. While looking through my stash I came across some Raspberry Tart DSP and it all clicked. At that point, I was on a mission! I threw in some Regal Rose and Rose Red, grabbed my much loved punches and the Polka Dot Punches set... tossed in a dash of Sweet Serendipity and voila! A card was born :)

Thanks for stoppin' by and takin' a peek!

Fun Mail!

OK, so it wasn't MY fun mail... but I sure had a good time making it and mailing it! My bestest friend Mary made an unexpected trip out of town when her mother was sick. It's not the easiest thing being a temporary caregiver and we know it's not fun needing one! There wasn't much I could do but pray for them and send some smiles. Can you guess what I sent? Man, you're good! You are right! I sent cards :)

This card is the card I sent to Mary. She'd mentioned that she liked this stamp set when we were catalog browsing one day, so I knew it would please her.

I stamped the truck on Always Artichoke and cut it out which was a new trick for me. It was loads of fun coloring the flowers with my new markers... Being an Okie, I couldn't resist creating a shaded parking place :) It turned out pretty cute if I may say so myself!

Of course her mom needed a get well card too! Here's what I sent to wish her a speedy recovery.

It's such a good feeling to send fun mail. I really should do it more often!!!

After such a long break between posts, I think I'd better stop there so anyone who actually sees my blog (yes, I mean you, sister dear!) won't have a heart attack. Two posts in one day!?!?!? What came over me!!??!! Hopefully I'll see ya soon :)

I dunno about you, but I'd sooner be stampin'!

It's been a while!

Ok, so obviously I could use some help with my regularity. And I'm NOT talking about more fiber in my diet!!

I've made some goodies since my last post and it's high time that I share some of them with you :) I was kind of sad that the SU Thoughts of Father set retired. I was out browsing the stamping supplies in a local store and picked up a stamp to help ease the pain...

I was on a masculine card kick, so I went with it! My DD picked this eagle stamp up at a garage sale and it made up into a card I was rather pleased with...

As you can see, I'm beginning to discover the wonder of brads but haven't gotten very creative (or straight!) with them yet. Whatcha think? Should I throw my hands up and say "the mojo was never mine!" or should I continue on my voyage of rubber stamp discovery? I bet you already know what *I* think I should do :)

I dunno about you, but I'd sooner be stampin'!
